On Sunday, 25 October 2026, we’ll be in Rome for the presentation of the new Gambero Rosso Vini d’Italia 2027 guide and the tasting accompanying this event dedicated to Italian wine. An opportunity to meet fellow producers, share our wines and talk about the work we do every day at Ampeleia.
We’re delighted to take part in the tasting, especially as we have two recognitions to celebrate.
Cento Respiri and 16 File: two wines, two distinctions.
Cento Respiri 2024 has received the Due Bicchieri Rossi (Two Red Glasses), the recognition awarded to wines that reach the final selection stage for the Tre Bicchieri (Three Glasses). 16 File 2020, one of our two Cabernet Franc crus, has been included in the prestigious 50 Vini Rari 2027 selection: a Gambero Rosso project celebrating outstanding wines distinguished by their uniqueness, identity and exceptional stories behind their production.

We welcome these recognitions with pride and gratitude. Seeing two of our Cabernet Franc wines receive this recognition is particularly meaningful to us, because our work with this variety has shaped a significant part of our history.
Cabernet Franc and the terroir of Roccatederighi.
Cabernet Franc is a variety that our winemaker, Marco Tait, and all of us at Ampeleia feel allows us to express the terroir of Roccatederighi and the spirit of the high Metalliferous Hills of the Maremma with particular precision.
Today, we produce four single-varietal Cabernet Franc wines. Among them, our 16 File and 30 File crus represent our research into the expression of the territory, capturing the nuances of the soils with a precision that extends down to the individual vineyard row.
These wines are born from careful selections and years of observation and understanding. With each vintage, they show us just how much potential Cabernet Franc has here in Roccatederighi when given the space to tell the story of the place it comes from.
