Some places call to you long before you’ve even set foot in them. That’s what happened to us with this part of Maremma: wild, high, rugged, and so generous. When we arrived, the story of viticulture wasn’t written by big names, but by the hands of humble farmers, quietly tending their vines.
We chose this land because it’s free and off the beaten path –sometimes wild, always gentle. A patchwork of soils, minerals straight from the heart of the earth, and a biodiversity we chose not to tame. Here, the vines grow in harmony with the forest, nourished by the richness of the land.
Ampeleia’s Alta Maremma doesn’t give up its secrets easily, but in return, it offers authenticity and character. It’s here that we discovered our own way of making wine.
