Ampeleia means wine, and much more.

Ampeleia is also wheat and oil. It’s vineyards, but also orchards and olive groves. It’s people, and also animals.

It’s up and down, it’s small and it’s large. And it’s not just about work and career, but about personal growth as well. A place for dialogue and for gathering. It was born from the conscious choices of those who decided to live here.

The emotional pull of Roccatederighi inspired us to make decisions that were consciously mad.
Like the decision to unlock the immense potential of this land, which had been trapped by an almost non-existent wine culture. To give agriculture the value it deserves, by repopulating homes with young people who believe in this craft and want to breathe it in. To invest in grapes that few would have bet on, working with vineyards far apart from each other and from the cellar.
To create wines that are different and of high quality, wines that speak of Roccatederighi and speak of us.

Ampeleia does not stop at wine.

We believe that a farm isn’t just made up of one thing. It’s about a balance of elements, deep connections between the land and those who tend it, between the seasons and the rhythm of human life. It’s a complex agricultural vision, where every part nurtures and enriches the other.That’s why, alongside our vineyards, we grow wheat and olives, and have placed our beehives.

PASTA

Our pasta is the result of a special collaboration with the well-known Fabbri artisan pasta maker. We use only 100% organic Cappelli wheat, grown right in our fields.

OLIVE OIL

Our olive trees, around 800 in total, grow at 200 meters above sea level, producing an extra virgin olive oil with a strong Tuscan character.

HONEY

In the heart of our estate we have around ten beehives. In spring the bees move from flower to flower, helping to spread life and biodiversity.

Ampeleia, biodynamic winery.

Ampeleia began in 2002 as a winery, with the idea of cultivating the land as naturally as possible. Here, a place rich in life and diversity, the biodynamic choice showed its effects quickly: the soil became darker, fertile and alive, giving back to us what we gave it.

We produce all preparations, from heap and spray, in-house. In 2014 we welcomed five cows that graze freely, and they provide all that is needed for the 500 preparation.

We feel like guests and janitors of this land, with a moral duty to leave it better than we found it.
