Everything we do is connected by a thread, even though sometimes it’s hard to figure out what it is.

At Ampeleia, we get it now, because, like in a movie, we looked back at our first twenty years, and they showed us.

ORIGIN

In 2000, our journey began in search of a land: the one we wanted, unique and perfect.

We found it in Tuscany, in a different Maremma, higher and lighter. Here, right from our first harvest in 2002, we’ve been able to bring our idea of winemaking to life: gentle, authentic, humble, and ambitious.

Honoring the idea that to be authentic, it’s not enough to be simple: you need to be and protect what is whole and intact.

At Ampeleia, we are organic by nature, not by trend. We’ve always protected the treasures of our land to give back and preserve its richness. A value known for centuries, ever since our hills were home to ancient Etruscan miners.

THE PEOPLE OF AMPELEIA

There’s the family you’re born into, and then there’s the one you choose.

We were looking for a place to make good wine, and we found a place to express who we are. We’re united by vision and values, by passions and dreams. We arrived here little by little from different paths, and chose to stay.
And even though each of us has our own accent, we all speak the same language here: the language of gentle souls.

Between vineyard and cellar.

Here, you’ll find the beating heart of Ampeleia. You might come across Marco, winemaker and company manager, with a vision that brings out the best in every vine and every harvest. Or Matteo, who loves wine so much that he even gave his dog a name inspired by it. And then there’s the team that tends to the rows every day: Leonardo, Massimo, Fabio, Maurizio, Emiliano, and the rest of the crew.

In the office.

This is where Ampeleia takes the shape of ideas and projects. Here you’ll find Simona, who leads administration and connections with the territory. And also Simona, who coordinates logistics, ensuring that every bottle finds its way. Giulia takes care of communication, telling Ampeleia’s story through words and images. And then there are Francesco and Roberto, who, to be honest, don’t spend much time in the office—they’re out bringing Ampeleia’s wines, and the philosophy behind them, to the world.

Between wine shop and kitchen.

Hospitality comes to life with Ilaria and Tiziana. They are the ones who welcome visitors, share our wines with passion, and bring the flavors of this land to the table. In their warmth, you’ll find the spirit of Ampeleia; in their hands, the skill to turn simple, genuine ingredients into dishes that tell the story of the seasons and the territory.
