In 2002, we settled in Roccatederighi. Here, we found a special place—charged with energy and blessed with rich, varied soils. We soon noticed the subtle differences from one parcel to another, each piece of land revealing its own unique character. And we knew right away that Cabernet Franc could capture and express these nuances.

This is how the wine that bears our name was born—along with an entire project devoted to this remarkable grape.

Nuances: of color and character, of earth and sky, of variations on the same message. The one of Ampeleia. With these wines, which bring together different grape varieties, we tell various facets of our identity.

Our gentle approach led us to rediscover traditions that had been left behind in favor of an agriculture detached from its origins. And so Alicante Nero came to us: an indigenous truth of the Alta Maremma, once uprooted to make room for other grapes with deeper colors and bolder bodies, which we have brought back home. Today, it’s one of our most treasured gems.

Empatia was born from a realization: just as we were about to uproot the oldest vineyard on the estate, fully planted with Merlot, we discovered a wine with a unique and unexpected character. A wine that revealed a surprising depth and great personality—one that speaks of Roccatederighi.
