Vinous has just released the 2026 Tuscany Preview: once again, Antonio Galloni tasted some of Ampeleia’s wines.
We are particularly proud of Empatia 2020, our pure Merlot, which earned 97 points.. Galloni describes it as “magnificent”, highlighting its power, depth, and richness.
Empatia comes from high-altitude vineyards, harvested during the second half of September, in a terroir that gives the Merlot an intense yet harmonious structure.
Alongside Empatia, Ampeleia 2022 received 94 points, and together with the Merlot, it is considered “superb”.
We are proud that the skill of Marco Tait in interpreting this territory is recognized through these notes. This recognition reflects our dedication to careful vineyard management and terroir-respecting winemaking, with the goal of crafting wines that express the terroir with precision.
